Monday was the last day of the music and art festival Burning Man, which took place in Nevada, United States of America. Even though COVID put it off for three years, this year was the first Burning Man festival. At least 80,000 people came to the nine-day festival site. After the festival, thousands of cars lined up to go home, which caused a traffic jam in the Black Rock Desert that lasted more than eight hours.

The pictures that were shared on social media showed 15-lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic for miles. A lot of people have talked about the pictures on social media. Monday was the last day of a nine-day music and culture festival in Nevada, Nevada, in the United States. A New York Post article says that people trying to leave the site in the Black Rock desert were stuck in traffic for eight hours because thousands of cars were all lined up at the same time. After three years of COVID delays, this year was the first time that Burning Man was held.

At least 80,000 people came to the nine-day festival site. People at this party showed pictures of 15-lane, bumper-to-bumper traffic for miles. People love to say that Burning Man looks like Mad Max, but one Twitter user said, “The Exodus from camp is the most Mad Max I’ve felt all week. I’m five hours in and have two more to go until I reach the exit gate.” Even though crowding is normal at “the evacuation,” where people who go are called “burners,” it seemed worse than usual this year. The gas shortage and the current heat wave have made the situation worse. The Burning Man festival was held before Labor Day, and people came from all over the world to take part.

At the end of the party, a figure called the Burning Man was set on fire. Since the festival began in 1989, this has been the standard way to end it. People complained about how long the traffic jam was. Another unhappy participant tweeted pictures of 15 lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic that looked like a scene from a disaster movie. “Even though people love to compare Burning Man to Mad Max, I felt the most like Mad Max during the camp breakup,” he wrote on Twitter. I only have five hours left until I can leave.

The New York Post says, “When we left at 8:38 p.m. last night, the estimate was 6 hours, but half of our group got to the gate in 10 hours and the other half in 12 hours.” Reports say that some people had to wait as long as 12 hours to leave the event. In addition to the traffic accident, the Burning Man festival was hampered on Saturday by a dust storm that reminded people of the Dust Bowl. According to the Daily Mail, the storm made it hard for people to see the sun and covered them in dust. It also led to a “white out,” which meant that businesses had to close their gates and exits. The week’s highest temperature was also 105 degrees.
